MEDIA: reasons to keep your personal information private

IAS Advisory co-founder Mr Anuwat Ngamprasertkul made his latest appearance on national TV in Thailand in the first episode of the latest series of “Good Thinking, Good Society,” a popular news and current affairs programme on TNN2 (TrueVisions channel 784).

Anuwat appeared alongside Mr Surachai Chaiyarangkitrat, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Pcubed Thailand, to discuss local data protection laws and the importance of keeping your personal information private.

Interns join IAS Advisory from Srinakharinwirot University

The firm was delighted to host two pupils from Srinakharinwirot University‘s Faculty of Social Sciences recently on its internship programme.

Mr Napach Tangpitakpaisal and Mr Pattapon Thammasan joined us for 12 weeks from Monday 6th January to Friday 28th March 2025.

Both students were enthusiastic and hard-working. They managed assignments well and adapted quickly to every task they were set. They demonstrated new skills during their time with us and enhanced their legal knowledge, and left a positive impression on all staff with whom they worked.

Srinakharinwirot University is a prominent Bangkok-based public autonomous university. Founded in 1949, it has four colleges and 17 faculties across two campuses. Several faculties run programmes jointly with overseas institutions, broadening the university’s knowledge base.

IAS Advisory has so far welcomed 17 students onto its internship and training programme over the past 18 months. The firm is committed to providing opportunities for growth and giving young people a platform to learn and make a difference.

MEDIA: investment fraud red flags and how to spot them

Investment fraud is becoming more frequent and much more difficult to spot. Scammers today are using everyday search engines and social media platforms, plus channels like private chat groups and instant messaging apps, to promote fake opportunities. AI and other advanced technologies using sophisticated software and complex algorithms are now available, providing scammers with new ways to target people and trick consumers and investors. Fraud detection and prevention is suddenly much tougher.

Typical scams include hidden businesses disguised as direct sales, people posing as celebrities to solicit funds, websites imitating real investment platforms (which look totally indistinguishable from the real thing), and highly enticing tailored ad campaigns promising big returns with little to no risk. Types of investment vary and might involve crypto, gemstones, precious metals, property, shares or funds, or even collectibles like art, classic cars/watches, or fine wine.

So, how do you protect yourself against these new threats? What signs should you look for to spot these scams? How do you avoid falling victim to investment fraud and other such white collar crimes? What is the fraud triangle?
